In order for an event not hosted or sponsored by the Office of Spiritual Formation (OSF) to offer a Spiritual Formation credit, the primary objective of the event must be one of the bullet points below, (which align with the overall objectives of the OSF): Exposure to the Gospel
o Involves the exploration of Christian Scripture
o Involves testimony that relates to the transforming power of Christ and living into the Kingdom of God
o Involves acts of worship including but not limited to prayer, worship music, or Holy Communion.
Relational Discipleship
o Involves conversation about how real-life situations and challenges relate to a Christian worldview or lifestyle
o Involves building ongoing and deep* relationships of mutual trust, support, and accountability that witness to the abiding love of Christ
o Involves practices (spiritual disciplines) that help us grow in relationship with Christ or further conform our lives to the life of Christ
NOTE: What you select must be primary or central to your event, not an “add on” or one small piece of an event. For example, praying before a team meal would not be eligible; however, a time of prayer or testimony while sharing a meal with teammates would be eligible for credit. Similarly, mentioning one Scripture during a meeting does not qualify; the message should be thoroughly rooted in Scripture.
